Prince William is scheduled to attend the COP30 climate summit in South America next month, as confirmed by royal officials.

Prince William and King Charles appeared together on Thursday evening at a gathering ahead of the environmental conference, which is scheduled to take place in the Amazonian city of Belém.

The royal pair were participating in the Natural History Museum reception, marking an rare public appearance together at a environmental conference preliminary meeting organized in partnership with the UK government.

Climate Leadership Commitment

King Charles has been a longstanding advocate of biodiversity preservation - and Prince William has inherited the mission, with his own environmental prize initiative, which will be held in Brazil preceding the climate conference.

Official representatives have portrayed William's involvement at the upcoming climate summit as assuming an important role in "global climate discussions".

Previous Activities

The monarch and his heir, arriving together in the official car, were greeted participants featuring environmentalists, scientists, environmental activists, diplomats and government officials.

This participation featured addresses in concert with French leader Macron of the French Republic and other world leaders at the Blue Economy and Finance Forum in the Principality of Monaco in recent months.

Earthshot Awards Connection

The climate conference will dovetail with the William's personal sustainability recognition program, which will finish in the Brazilian city the day before he attends the COP summit on the sixth of November.

Recently the royal figure characterized the prize competitors as "heroes of our time".

Monarch's Environmental Record

King Charles has been a key figure at past COP meetings, giving the opening address in the United Arab Emirates for the 28th Conference of Parties, including the reminder: "We are custodians of the planet, not its owners".

"For decades I've committed a significant amount of my life trying to raise awareness about the survival risks challenging our world over planetary heating, climate change and ecological decline," the King told delegates.
